Selection Process of SSC Stenographer 2025 Recruitment
The selection process comprises three stages:
1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE):
- Duration: 2 hours
- Sections:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- General Awareness
- English Language and Comprehension
- Total Marks: 200
- Nature: Objective-type (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Medium: English and Hindi (except English section)
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
2. Skill Test in Stenography:
- Candidates who qualify the CBE are called for the Stenography Skill Test.
- For Grade ‘C’ Posts:
- Dictation: 10 minutes @ 100 words per minute (w.p.m.)
- Transcription Time:
- 40 minutes (English)
- 55 minutes (Hindi)
- For Grade ‘D’ Posts:
- Dictation: 10 minutes @ 80 w.p.m.
- Transcription Time:
- 50 minutes (English)
- 65 minutes (Hindi)
- The Skill Test is qualifying in nature, but errors beyond the prescribed limits will lead to disqualification.
3. Document Verification (DV):
- Shortlisted candidates after the Skill Test will be called for Document Verification.
- Candidates must produce original documents like:
- Educational certificates
- Age proof
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Identity proof
- Final merit will be prepared based on performance in the CBE, subject to qualifying the Skill Test and DV.
